The Grange Motto:
In Essentials, Unity. In Non-Essentials, Liberty. In All Things, Charity.

How we serve the community

Rexville in the Community

• We are a community hall. Many community functions and events are held here.

• Serves as a a Red Cross shelter, ready in times of need.

• #815. We are a part of the Skagit County, Washington State and National Granges.

• The Grange, officially referred to as Order of Patrons of Husbandry, is a fraternal organization that encourages families and neighbors to promote the economic and political well-being of the community and agriculture. Founded after the Civil War in 1867, the Grange is the oldest American agricultural advocacy group with a national scope.
•  The Grange movements and accomplishments include regulating the railroads and grain warehouses, establishment of rural free mail delivery and rural electrification.
• The organization was unusual at the time because women and teens old enough to draw a plow were encouraged to participate. The Grange was the first organization which allowed a woman to hold an office.

Significant Grange causes have included the direct election of Senators and women's suffrage. Susan B. Anthony's last public appearance was at the National Grange Convention in 1903.

• Washington state has the largest Grange membership of any state, at approximately 13,000 members.

• A monument to the founding of the Grange is the only private monument on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Who
we are

The Rexville Grange has been a part of the Skagit Valley since 1927.

Built above the valley farmland on Pleasant Ridge, the hall was designed in the traditional grange style with long, built-in benches in the main hall.  The solid maple floor has been witness to many dances, potlucks, weddings, family events and memorial services.

In 1946, the membership decided to "raise the roof" by lifting the main hall up onto a new ground floor.  This made the Rexville Grange the largest grange hall in Washington state.

The Rexville Grange has a proud history of helping and supporting the families and communities in our area and we will continue to serve our friends and neighbors of our community.
